Coming
in October! According to the
study Strong Families, Strong Schools
performed by the U.S. Department of
Education, "when parents are
involved in their children's learning,
children earn higher grades, higher test
scores, and stay in school

About Us
Dayspring Academy is a charter school concentrating
on the Arts. It
began as an idea of a group of community members
from New Port Richey in September 1999. From this group a board began to form including educators,
business leaders, and legislative employees.
This board became a non-profit organization
calling itself Creation Foundation, Inc.
Creation
|
|
Foundation met
regularly with families in the community to
brainstorm educational ideas, needs, and goals.
The charter was granted and in April 2000,
Dayspring received over 170 applications for
enrollment in grades K-5.
The school was able to accommodate 131 of
those applicants.
In
the summer of 2003, the dream of Dayspring Academy
was enlarged. A
local civic association took interest in our school.
Embassy Hills Civic Association interviewed
several community groups and decided to donate their
facility to Dayspring Academy.
Embassy Hills blessed us with a 9,000 square
foot building on 2.75 acres of land in Port

Richey, 7 minutes away from our existing
campus. And
in September 2003, Dayspring Middle School
moved over to our new facility where we
thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the year.
Embassy Hills Civic Association still
meets in the building and we enjoy the
interaction between the generations.
Dayspring Academy
will ever be grateful to Embassy Hills for
their generosity and their support.
The arts idea wasn’t present from the
beginning, but came about after founder Suzanne

|
Legg visited an Arts school in Tampa.
Walking through the school she saw
students playing various instruments and their
sweet melodies filled the air.
There was no other type of school to
have. A
school that discovers and develops the
artistic side of every child was just what our
community needed.
Whether through academics, music,
dance, guitar, or musical theater, every child
has a chance to soar at Dayspring Academy.
Now, in its eighth year of operation,
Dayspring Academy continues to be academically
ahead of its class.
It has been an “A” school since its
opening and will continue on that path because
of its wonderful team.
